ScoreMoreTestPrep–The Custom Test Prep Educators,
setting the GOLD standard in standardized test prep.
Twenty-five years ago, Martha Gagnon, Ph.D. and Rebecca Mason, M.A. collaborated in developing a test prep program that has assisted thousands of families through the process of improving scores in order to enhance their college admission and scholarship opportunities. Dr. Gagnon and Ms. Mason have expanded their test prep courses to include all 3 major college admission exams: the SAT, PSAT and the ACT…..all in one course. Students will not need to take multiple test prep courses. Their program has consistently received rave reviews from parents, students and school counselors and principals as hundreds of students continue to refer new students to them. (See Feedback page here.) You are invited to connect with Rebecca Mason, Program Director, to see how she and her team might help your student.
ANNOUNCING: At this time, we have 4 options available.
1. Private tutoring
2. Semi-private tutorial (fall dates to be announced soon)
3. Virtual course (details, dates below)
4. One in-person course (location, dates below)
You may have heard that some colleges have announced they will be “test optional”. That means students won’t necessarily be required to submit test scores unless they want to submit them. This may sound great at first, but many students are still submitting scores in order to give themselves an extra edge for acceptance. Most academic scholarships are still being awarded based on test scores along with grades and other factors.
BETTER SCORES MEAN MORE COLLEGE CHOICES
AND POSSIBLY SCHOLARSHIPS!
SENIORS: take advantage of this opportunity to improve your scores
SOPHOMORES AND JUNIORS: now is the time to prep for your PSAT, SAT and ACT in order to get your BEST possible scores–with the LEAST amount of stress!
The National test dates: The SAT is administered several times, starting in August, 2021. It will also be administered in October, November and December, March, May and June. The 2021-2022 schedule for the ACT is Sept. 11, Oct. 23, Dec. 11, 2021; Feb. 2, April 2, June 11, July 16, 2022. Check with your school or another school near-by to see if it will be hosting these tests on these or alternate dates.
Option 1: Private tutoring– IN PERSON (OR VIRTUAL, YOUR PREFERENCE.) This option is perfect for students who already have a foundation of our testing strategies, but who need test refinement in a few specific areas. Busy students who participate in sports or have a heavy commitment load are also candidates for private tutoring, because scheduling is flexible. Very limited fall schedule: please schedule now.
Option 2: Semi-Private Tutorials– VIRTUAL (or possibly in person this fall) . Each 16- hour semi private tutorial is limited to 10 students or fewer and comprehensively prepares participants for the PSAT, SAT + ACT! The small class size allows for lots interactive learning and maximum student participation. Students will be assigned two entire tests as follow-up homework that will students to APPLY their newly acquired testing strategies. Dates to be announced soon.
Options 3 and 4: Choose the one that best fits your needs (note: one is virtual and one is in person):
One group ZOOM course: dates Sept. 17, 20, 22, 24, 28 and 30. Time 5:00-7:00 pm. Our large sessions include live, direct instruction and cover all the strategies necessary for the PSAT, SAT + ACT like our semi-private tutorial, but the sessions are lecture- style. They do not have the same amount of applied follow-up homework or customization. We record each zoom session so students have access to each session as many times as they wish for 30 days. We also send each student our personal Power Point presentation so students can review each lesson to make sure their notes are comprehensive. Zoom classes offer lots of flexibility. Participants may choose to interact live during each session, or watch the recorded sessions at their convenience without any gaps in the course content. Of course, we recommend interacting live during the sessions. It’s a high energy class with A LOT of participation for those who want to get the most out of the experience. Instructors remain available after class to answer additional individual questions. They also are available to students at other times.
One IN-PERSON course at St. John’s Preparatory in Frederick County, MD. Dates are
3 Sundays: September 12, 19 and 26 (12:30-4:30). Students are to attend all 3 dates. Open to all students on first-come, space-available basis.
